Hi, another saddle question I'm afraid!

Just wondering if the cob version is only suitable for those with very low/flat withers? My welsh sec d is 5, and does have a slight to moderate wither.

What type of horses are wearing the cob version? All replies greatly appreciated :D

I have posted this in the new lounge as well, just to complicate things

I use the cob one on my sec D, he's 6 had it since he was 3,. But he is flat backed and very wide, it fits him very well and has ajusted its shape as he's grown,. On their website the have a template, i used a wire hanger pulled flat and bent it round his back then matched it with the online stencil, he came back as the cob saddle xtra wide, he's old traditional type though, very chunky with little withers,. Hope that helps,.

Excellent, their good basic saddles, i know alot of people dont like them though, mines 3 1/2 yr old now, no good for showing like, but good for me and my lad who are just happy hackers, ive just had two girth straps replaced for real leather ones, as they had started to split, was £60 all in, 2 new each side, my saddle did squeak a bit in early days, but soon settled, they just need a bit of time to mold themselves around the horses body, but on the whole i feel my money was well spent.

I had the cob style for my cob but when I sold him and got another cob it didn't fit as he had a bit of a wither (although still very wide). I think there is something you can print off on the Thorowgood website to tell which one you need which might help..
