Thorowgood/ Kent & Masters seat sizes...

My saddler is coming out on Wednesday to measure Hattie up for a Kent & Masters GPD!!!! She has the size charts to will be able to tell me what wither saddle she needs (hi or normal) so that is good but I'm not sure what seat size I should go for.

I should take an 18" saddle as my thigh length is 26" but I've always ridden Hattie in 17 1/2" saddles. I don't know if she could take an 18".

How do the seats on Thorowgoods/K&M's ride like? Are they generous or smallish?

When I was looking for a new saddle, I asked for 17" ones. My saddler bought out a 17.5" Kant and Masters GP Cob and said that they measure small so it would be ok. It didn't look 'big'. I can't say what it was like to sit on as it was 'nearly new' and a bit out of my price range so I didn't try it.

Hmmm, if they measure small then best to get an 18" one I hate the feeling of riding in a too small saddle.

They so seem to come up smaller - I've got 2 - a 17.5" and an 18", the 18" one is a bit more spacious for me but I usually ride in a 17" or sometimes a 16.5".

Compared to other 18" saddles I have ridden in, it's definitely not as big

Goodness gracious, if you ride in a 16.5"- 17" saddle and find the 18" not so big then lord help my long legs and lard butt, LOL! 18" it is then!

funny how opinions vary. I have always ridden in 17 1/2 but my K&M is a 17 inch and its fine
