A friend of mine based in the USA is looking at purchasing a Thorowgood saddle, but one that seems to have inflatable panels (description below):
Has anyone heard of or got one of these, or got one, and how hard would it be to buy the inflate/deflate tool? Doesn't seem to be a feature on any of their current range.
The strange thing about this particular saddle, though, is that it has air panels, like CAIR, except you can inflate and deflate them yourself using some special tool. There's a port in the front of the gullet where you do the inflating/deflating. I know some people are vehemently anti-CAIR, and I may decide it isn't right for us either, but again, at the asking price, I think it's worth taking a chance.
On small problem, though: The tool for inflating/deflating the panels is gone, and from the pictures, I can tell that the owner has them way over-inflated. So if I were to buy it, I would need to be able to deflate them somehow for there to be any chance of it working out. Does anyone know if it would be possible to find a replacement tool (I'm thinking probably in the UK, since Thorowgoods are fairly uncommon over here)? Or in the alternative, if there's something else I could use to accomplish the same thing?
Also, the billet guard indicates that it's an "Elite" model. Definitely older than the T4 and T6 models.
She has a photo but no time to put it up now.
