I've decided to go with either a Thorowgood or Kent & Masters GPD saddle but not sure if I should go with the regular wither or Hi-wither model. Hattie is a TB but has a straightish back with decent withers, not like the previous TB I had with shark withers and a dipped back!!

However, Hattie has had problems in the past (before I got her) with things rubbing on her withers as she has a bit permanent hair loss on top along with some white hairs and now with my jumping saddle sitting too low on them and causing a pressure sore.

I've heard that Thorowgood trees tend to have good wither clearance but will getting the hi-wither model be overkill and be too high at the pommel? I did the wither tracing chart that is on the Thorowgood website and it comes up her Hattie being regular to high withered.

Those that have Thorowgoods on TB's, what model did you end up getting and how does it fit your particular TB's conformation?

This is a photo I took of Hattie in the autumn to give you an idea of her wither height.

difficult to say but by the looks of her i'd say regular, i had a TB on a reg and was absolutely fine
