Well after a long chat with local saddler, we came to the conclusion that a Thorowgood Cob is the way to go with my youngster

. Not only will it meet Max's (my youngster) needs

, but also it will meet my needs of taking up my leg

.

But with Max only being a youngster, and still has alot of filling out to do, saddler suggested that the T6 range with the changable gullets and fish system would be more practical compared to the T4 with only fish system. Also me being me, I would preferbly want a brown saddle rather than a black (already have a brown bridle).

Here is where the problem comes in

, I have been keeping a close eye on eBay but there just doesn't seem to be any T6 17" Cobs coming up

.

So any suggestions to anywhere else to look will be muchly appreciated

. Also if anyone has any thorowgoods's, more so T6 range, what are your thoughts on them

?

Thanks

Your saddler is a bit out of touch! The T4 also has the adjustable gullets. If you were shown a t4 with just the fish it is an older model. All t4s and t6s now have changeable gullets, the difference between them is just the material they are made from, so T6s cost more.

There may not be many around second hand because the changeable gullets are relatively new. Be careful buying second hand unseen or untried too- if the saddle has been on an asymetrical horse just a few times, or mounted from the ground just a few times the flocking will be odd and will cost money to sort out. You may be better off financially going for new. you also actually need to ride in it to know it fits.

My dad has one. I looked at one before on the thorowgood website, seems to be the best place to look but for new obviously!

Otherwise you could buy my beautiful hand ctafted saddle, he he.

Agree with teddyt - yet again! and the saddle does come in brown!!!

T4 &T6 saddles really are extremely comfortable saddles too
