I'm looking for a thorowgood saddle for a 14'1 short backed pony. I've been looking at the pony club saddle & the t4 & have seen quite a few 'griffin' saddles advertised. Could anyone give me opinions on the griffin as looking on the Internet this seems to be an older type of thorowgood?

Loved my griffin. Now have the leather kent and masters version. Wonderfully comfy and like being velcroed on. You can get some especially for adults on ponies. The t4s are more adjustable.

They can be suede type seat or leather type. I have both versions of the Griffin and the T4 adjustable saddle.

I much prefer the griffin to the T4, I think it gives you a much better position, and the cob version gives a better contact to the normal one.
The suede seat is brilliant for sticking in the saddle also, even the leather look version seems to give you more grip than leather :D

Managed to get hold of a griffin pony club approved saddle.. Seems to it him lovely although need to get it professionally checked. Very happy withit.
