Thorowgood T4 saddles - just a quick Q

When did Thorowgood start making the T4 saddles? Is that model a few years old now?

T4 has been around a fair while. but the changeable gullet version only 3 years

Did they ever make them without stirrup leather keepers? I'm looking at one on Preloved and can't decide it it is actually a T4 or not - doesn't seem to have any leather keepers. She says she thinks it's a T4 but isn't sure, it's 3yo. I don't think it's a Griffin but not sure it's a true GP either, looks a bit more like a VSD...

I think they have always had the stirrup leather keepers, it could be the GPD version if it looks quite straight cut. Does it have the changeable gullet system?

The seller says it does have interchangeable gullets, definitely not FISH system.

I don't think it's a T4, must be something else...

There have been a few designs of the T4 before the current one, they have changed the knee rolls a few times. The latest ones have a seam in the middle of the knee roll; the earlier ones have a solid panel. Perhaps it's an early version with the changeable gullet?

I cant remember the interchangeable ones not having the fish system as well but the other newer thorowgood (T8) models stopped the fish I think.

Have you got a link to the advert? I had a standard GP T4 and I know someone who has the older version without fish/changeable gullet - its the cob version and is more straight cut.
