Does anyone have this saddle? I bought one in April and within about two months the bottom of the saddle flaps where your leg sits started peeling back, only a little but I imagine would have become a much larger area quite quickly.

I returned it to the shop where I bought it and it was sent back to Thorowgood and they replaced with a new one. Great! Well, I've ridden in the new one about 3 times and it's started happening again.

Anyone else found this?

I've posted on the facebook page but I really don't want to send back again as think there must be some fault with either the material or the glue used and it'll keep happening.

I'm looking to have the edge stitched to add some protection, anyone got any other ideas?

Thanks

I don't have the T8, just the T4 as it was a better fit. I therefore don't have any experience with this problem. I do know that thorowgood offer a guarantee for their saddles though, which you can sign up for on their website. Although I know it'd be a pain if it had to be sent off repeatedly to be repaired. :-/

Hopefully someone on here has some better advice though. Could you put a protective layer over the top of it even so your leg is rubbing against the protective layer rather than the flap itself?

Well they've come back on facebook saying I'm best to have it sent in again so they can assess. I suspect though I'll just end up with another new one. Add to that the saddle shop I bought it from has closed the branch nearest me so now they are 40 mins away, plus it means being without a saddle again just as my youngster is getting going and competing.

Not sure what to do now, good idea on the saddle covers though, you can get full ones I think...

I'm surprised though I've got an old T4 which is tough as old boots
