Apparently TG have stopped making the T6 and are releasing their new T8 which is a part leather, part synthetic saddle.

Has anyone seen one of these yet? Does anyone know when they go on sale?!

I must say I'm pretty impressed with Thorowgood and the advancements they are making in the synthetic (and leather!) markets. Their saddles seem so well designed with the horses welfare in mind but really affordable.

I wonder how much the T8 will retail at!
 
I'd be interested to see as well. Have they confirmed that it's replacing the T6? I thought it was in addition to the T6 and T4 range.

I rate Thorowgoods too, but I also really like the design of the new Wintec 2000 range, although the equisuede on them doesn't seem to be as durable as on the older models.
 
I have just bought one for my daughters horse, ou saddler has been able to get hold of a few before they are properly released, and has done it for us at a good price only £50 more than the T6. Daughter is very pleased with it!!
 
Sounds good. Now someone just has to persuad them to make the Cob saddle in a smaller size (smallest is 17", which is silly when they're meant to be for a type renound for short backs!). Oh, and WH style flaps please too.

Then i'd have my perfect saddle :D
 
I've had one about 3 weeks and i'm chuffed to bits with it - light as a feather and looks the business. You can't tell it's synthetic. I paid £500 for mine.
 
I cant find anything about them???

I love my T6s I have one in a gob GP for Kia and one in a normal GP for eowyn and they are fab saddles, interested from a fan POV :)
 
I saw the new saddle at BETA and was pretty impressed with it, especially as the price difference is quite small for a better saddle.
 
Is anyone with a T8 able to tell me if the synthetic is any different to the t6 synthetic?
I know the differences are leather on the knee and seat, but just wondering if Thorowgood have fixed the flap curling by using new synthetic material?

Last week I emailed Thorowgood but no reply.
I've been trying to call for a couple of days but I'm in Australia, and every time I call I get a recorded message saying the office is closed until January?
 
I dont know whether it is different synthetic material or not but I know they were waiting for the order of material to come in so it could possibly be a new material. Mine is hopefully coming on thursday so I will post pictures when it is here :) sooo excited :)
 
So my T8 came today but unfortunately is half an inch too long so gotto wait another 2 weeks for a smaller one :) The entire top of the saddle is leather and the underneath is all synthetic. It is extremely comfortable and looks lovely. My boy moved fantastically well in it and I cant wait to get out and about in it. The panels were lovely and deep and gave fantastic clearance on my lads quite prominent spine. Would deffinately recommend :)
 
l have a saddle fitter coming next week and was all set to get the high wither t6 but now there seems to be a t8. now l dont know what to do should l wait till the t8 is around (which could be a long wait !) or do l go with the t6 or even the t4. my new horse is rather poor, high wither, no top line, :confused:
