Gosh yes! There's always the chance that they could end up in good homes, well looked after by knowledgable people! God forbid anyone who is not a HHOer is capable of looking after a horse properly!

~snickers!~

I've added her as a friend so I can have a look.....I need to know a bit more though before I commit. Highly doubtful they have passports, so who did she actually rescue them from...?

Jesus. No need to jump on me. I knew there was a reason I didn't join in forums. If you've read through the photo and chit chat comments like I have then you can see for yourself the sort of people wanting them. Why rescue them in the first place if she didn't have secure homes in place for them?

gah I wish I could get on FB

So shes giving away these animals, that dont have passports, and youd have a couple TMG but they dont have passports, is anyone going to get any passports applied for or is this all just going nowhere?

Whats the deal about the reference to the courts, for those that cant read it please?

I think to be honest it won't go anywhere, I would like a couple but would need to find out a lot more first as to where they come from, how/why it's been through the courts as I don't know and the fact she wants them gone by tomoz is not going to happen I wouldn't think. Nobody genuine surely is going to just go and pick up a few without asking more questions etc.

If she truely has the court paperwork, its fine to travel them. You just need to show transport company that paperwork in lieu of the passport.

Courts may have seized them for any one of a different reasons....they are termed assets after all.
Most common is our travelling friends who dump in fields. You need to go to court, get an eviction order, then when its not adhered to, go back and get a seizure order, but this only allows a bailiff company to take them away.
They must then (if the claimant does not want them) be put up for public auction to recoup the money owed......So the claimant has to passprt them.
All sounds highly dodgy to me TBH

Difficult one. What you don't want to do is jump into someone's dirty legal battle and get left holding the babies so to speak. Sounds very dodgy tbh. I've over ordered haylage this year due to savage weather forecast so could probably take them (divorce would be pending LOL) but not if they couldn't go via Gillies which if they aren't passported they can't. Also we have had heaps of these so suspicious of trolling too.

Goodness, some horses are just really unlucky in life.

Yep some horses are so unlucky in life the poor buggers.
After a long think this afternoon I'm not going to get involved it just don't sound right to me at all. She can't afford to passport them all so why take them on?? And to say she needs them gone this weekend is just stupid

sorry to post out of sequence, it is possible to transport unregistered unpasported horses if you use a transport company that has the appropriate licence to do it. It involves more paperwork by the transporter, atc etc and the additional cost of being satellite tracked with DEFRA being able to check on your movements. That is why transport costs sometimes seem expensive, the licensing and tracking costs money.
