Well, after not having any rain for months we have had inches of the stuff in just a couple of days (be careful what you wish for lol!!)

I am hunting tomorrow morning (early) and both boys have come in caked in mud

It is all up their manes and between their ears.

What are the best stretch hoodie things? are they any good?

Both horses are large 16hh+

I've got a snuggy hood on one of my boys, were cubbing tomorrow and there a god send! Quite expensive but worth every penny.

I use hoods from Snuggy Hoods to keep the mud out of my grey's mane and stop his neck turning orange from the clay. My hood doesn't have ears but think they are also available from Snuggy Hoods. Not sure the turnout ones are totally waterproof altho certainly shower proof as I discovered the other day.

I've got a snuggy hood for my grey IDxhippo. I was a bit worried about trying it, as I was worried about it slipping, but it was great all last winter. I had the one that just went a few inches down his neck so that he wouldn't get too hot under his neck cover.
In fact you've just reminded me to buy another one as I think a spare while I wash and dry his existing one will be a good idea this winter.

I have a snuggy hood for my grey. I am seriously considering getting them to fit the ears to it this years as well!

Absolute best buy I've made for ages!

Thanks for all of the advice, I think I will get the one that goes all the way over the face, there seems to be one with a zip which seems to be a good idea?

Anyone have the cheaper versions? those snuggy hoods are a bit expensive - especially when I have to buy two
