If your horse is injured and needs daily cold-hosing / wound dressing / walking in hand etc - is that something your yard includes in the service or is it something that owners are expected to undertake themselves?

I'm inclined to think that part-livery is only really muck-out / hay / water / turn-out / bring-in and rug-changing but wondered what other yards offered as part of the service.

I'm part livery and if either of my horses were injured, then any direct care, ie cold hosing or wound dressing would be done as part of my livery costs. Anything else like, walking in hand I would have to do myself or pay extra for which I feel is quite acceptable. :)

Fiorano - That seems like a reasonable arrangement. Do you leave specific instructions re: treatment or are your yard competent enough to make the call themselves?
