How many [small, rectangular] bales do you get through in a week, per stable?

I know this is a "how long is a piece of string" question since it will depend on how big the stables are, how long they're in, how good the straw is, how deep I make their beds etc... Basically I need a rough estimation of how much I will need over the winter (for the farmer supplying it) and it's been so long since I've used small bales, I have no idea... The stables are "normal" sized, they'll be stabled over night - 12-18 hours I guess, weather dependant - and with reasonable beds...

So a vague idea of how much anyone on here uses would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers! :)

What sort of floor do you have and do you like to take out all wet or deep litter?

I'm on draining earth floors, so only use about half a bale per week, but I don't think that is normal

I have earth floors ,then a stone layer then a thick menage grade wood chip then a thick straw bed on top. One large round bale lasts me 1 month in the winter, when they are in for 12 to 15 hours a day. 2 stables, 12 x12. there are 10 to 12 small bales in a large round bale so that is about one and a half small bales per stable per week.

With my very messy mare I used at least a bale a day when she was in about 12 hours a night! I probably used 9 bales a week for her and two for my other one so it's so variable I don't think you'll ever be able to predict it tbh.

I have one mare that only uses a slice or two a day, so a bale and a half a week.

I have a messy gelding that uses 1/3-1/2 a bale a day.

I have a pony that uses a 2-3 slices a day.

Averages out at a bale a day for the three.

helpful :p Fortunately neither of mine are particularly messy... :D

OK I have a rough idea of what I need, I think. Thanks for all the replies - much appreciated! :)
