What insurance do you have? I am looking into getting some insurance as I am just about to become self-employed as a freelance groom/rider. I am a BHS Gold Member but from what I can understand this only covers me for public liability insurance whilst riding and working with my own horses or in a situation where no money is exchanging hands.

Can anyone suggest what sort of Insurance I will need?

Go to the grooms association web site and you will find all the info you need.

kbis, shearwater and all of the big equestrian brokers can offer you a freelance policy. you tell them what you intend to be doing etc and they can advise you what type of policy you need , .. public liability, 3c cover, teaching cover etc.
