As per the title,

How do u manage when u want to go out competing ? Is it fixable?

We have loading/ travel issues which we are working on, in a perfect world I'd like him to be able to travel alone.

This horse gets very stressed if another horse goes out if sight when hacking and I've been told he won't travel on his own.. So... Any ideas how to fix it? Can we fix it?

What's your experiences?

Sorry no personal experience but off the top of my head:

Is there anyone going to the same comps as yourself you could buddy up with travel wise?

There is a difference between being left alone when hacking and travelling, if the horse can get used to traveling in company until it is confident loading and also on the journey you should then be able to try it alone, do not try leaving him on the lorry/ trailer when the other one comes off, get him off first so he is more relaxed.
I would get it used to spending time alone in a "safe" place, just tied up on an empty yard when you groom, going for walks in hand alone rather than taking a friend away which can cause more stress, I like to bring in one on its own rather than take the others away, this is usually acceptable to most horses and you can gradually extend what you do alone but try to always keep the stress to an absolute minimum while you build up the confidence.
A mirror is a good idea, it has worked for a couple I know that do not like to stable or travel alone.

Thank you for replying :)

Thing is he is fine on yard on his own and will hack out alone.. I'd just like eventually to travel him alone..

I'm guessing I just need to take it slowly with him.

I don't have that problem but would getting a little mini Shetland to travel with you help? could put up some electric tape outside the trailer and leave the mini munching away whilst your out doing your thing?
