Do you tack your horse up in the trailer when at out and about?

how do you access your horse to do anything to it? ie tack up, take boots off, put boots on etc?

I've an ifor 510 and a 17.2 horse and have always taken him out of the trailer and tied him up outside before i do anything to him - I can't see how I could manage to do anything when he is still in the trailer

Greatful for any tips!!!

I always take b out - I don't see any other way without a squash or a struggle. I have added IW tie rings to the side of my trailer.

In fact I leave him out all the time, unless it's raining or I have to go out of sight for long & he would be unsupervised. He's quite happy standing with his haynet watching the world go by. I would NEVER tie him on a long rope so he can graze though. I hate seeing that.

I have in very bad weather, I make sure all the doors are closed and unclip all the breaching and breast bars, then push back the partions, if the horse takes a step forward theres just enough room to tack up!!

Probably not very safe but I'd rather do that then get soaking wet, my horse can be cold back so i like to leave his saddle on for a while before mounting

I have a 510 and my mare is 16.1hh. I normally travel her in her bridle with her halter over the top. When I get to my destination I tie her up to the trailer and take off her bandages and put on the saddle. On the way home she just has her halter on.

i do everything bar studs in the trailer if its raining! if its nice it jsut depends what i feel like really... sometimes in sometimes out... but then i don't use partitions ;)

I don't tack up in the trailer, might be pushed to put a bridle on but thats it. Actually, saying that, I often change rugs - there is more space inside the single Ifors than meets the eye!
I can't tie Meg up either, she just doesn't 'do tied up'! I have to manage by holding her, she is very good at that, and my arms just have to get used to stretching things from the car!! Down to a fine art now. lol
If I leave her, then obviously I put her back in, either with her travel bandages back on or her brushing boots. Its a hastle, but as said, got used to it. She is safe in her mobile home.

if raining i will tack up inside - but then i have a single trailer so much more space inside :)
but normally will tie up outside.

I have an equi trek and tack up inside that. I changed from the Ifor for many reasons and one of them was that there was limited space inside to do anything.

I couldn't but then since i past my test I have always had two in the trailer, so there would be no room. Not been far away yet, so I saddle then up when travelling (obviously not on the way back though!)

If I was just taking my mare, then yes I could possibly as you could just push the middle section over and make more room
