Yeah a lot of Welsh are 'line bred' or bred 'in the purple' so it is quite common for half/full brothers and sisters, fathers/daughters, mothers/sons to be crossed.

It's not unusual for Sec D's to be 'line bred' (or in-bred to put it more bluntly) . I'm sure it's half the reason they're so bonkers :D. I'm no expert but know a little bit and neither of those prefixes ring a bell with me. You'll struggle to find a modern Sec D without Nebo somewhere in their breeding (and if they're one of the few without Nebo, they've probably got Llanarth). Nebo Black Magic was a very prolific stallion in the 60s and 70s so nearly every one will go back to him or his progeny somewhere along the line.

Oh really i never knew that yes would make sense with the bonkers! Shes actually a sec c but in her passport few relations are d

Hiya I've only just come across this post but my mare's sire is annod st Bert and her dam is Cefn Dutchess, she was born in Essex and bred by Robert French.

I have a d but not heard of that preface. Mine isn't line bred but is still nuts, bless him. I haven't met a d that isn't a bit manic. Marmite springs to mind.
