Just looking for information, advice and experience with using Coolstance Copra as thinking of trialing my TB on it this winter as it seems highly recommended for weight gain/maintenance. How much do you feed (dry weight and soaked weight)? How long to soak for? What do you feed it with, if anything? Palatable stuff? Does it fizz horses up? How long does a bag last on average and where is the best place to buy (none of my local tack shops 'stock' it), online?
Thanks in advance :)

I don't feed alot as my TB is a good doer but may up a bit in the winter.

He gets 1 kg a day but you can feed more (that works out at about half a stubbs scoop.)

Frankie gets about the same of alfalfa pellets and minerals/supplements. I may add some unmolassed sugar beet in the winter and if he goes into really hard work at any point and needs something extra may add oats.

I soak for about 5 or 10 minutes and it fluffs right up. It smells really nice and most horses seem to like it though there are always exceptions.

It didn't fizz him up at all, he is very laid back generally but does react to sugar/molasses so I have to be a bit careful.

If you go to their website, contact them and they will help you find your nearest stockist.

I use it and get it delivered by Boomerang Copra in bulk.

Bigger neddie gets two soaked scoops a day, spread over a couple of meals, as well as speedibeet, and alfalfa, smaller ones get proportionately less. I also feed extra vits and mins every day, especially calcium which it lacks for youngstock and lactating mares. It seems to last for ages but in reality between 4 horses I probably go through 2 bags a month, maybe slightly less

It is ready to use in about 10 minutes, if you leave it longer it just continues to absorb more water.

If I thought the horses needed something extra I would add soaked oats to what I am already feeding
