Just some advice please. My TB had the op 13 days ago, he has been home for 5 days, he has finished the bute prescribed and was doing well with his 2x a day walks in hand.
Now he has stopped the bute he is clearly in agony, he is bracing himself the whole time and is refusing o leave his stable, let alone walk in hand.

The vet is coming out tommorrow to reomve his staples and he has been given a high dose of bute tonight.

Were your horses in this much pain 13 days post-op?

My friends horse had this approx three weeks ago he was quite unhandable before , apparantly he has bee good little leadwalks out of box to muck out he had a lot of spine removed ,it may be your horse still thinks it will hurt ?

I hope this has been sorted now - I missed it when it first came on. I have to say that my mare was a little uncomfortable if led around for too long, but nothing as extreme as you are describing.

As I say I hope it's sorted - do you have an update?
