A short monday morning lesson in eating ones words!!
grin.gif

There are those on our yard who look down on me and my big chunky Hovis. Who mock his large feet, his bog brush mane, the fact his chest is wider than their entire horse. Those who sneer at his lack of breeding, his lack of elegance compared to their finely boned well bred TBs and WBs.
But yesterday Hovis and his kinds worth was proven..

In the 65mph winds Hovis was seen calmly grazing whilst in a precise row, shivering pathetically in the shelter of his vast body were two TBs and a WB.
Hovis the wind break......
Mock no more!!

Me me me!
I mock people with chunky horses....pah.
Why don't you barbecue him (invite your family...no invite the entire street), and buy something refined, with quality, like a TB or WB?
I can't believe you are proud of your horse's complete lack of sensitivity to the howling gales....
Ugh.

Under health and safety rules (new ones I just invented) fat horses/ponies cannot be eaten as they contain too much cholestrol.

From your username, I suspect you have a fat, hairy, feathered vested interest in disseminating these lies.
Pah!

I own a warmblood but.....Chunky horses rock! Its all about the feathers baby! I love a good cob type!If I won lottery or boyfriend becomes millionare, I would treat myself to a feathered friend! not to mention brand new lorry....4X4.......!

Sadly no feathers - chopped off because of the devils work (mud fever).

The rest is true though

, despite extensive dieting.

Cobs are the dogs whatsits and worth their weight in gold. The chunkier, hairier and featherier (is that a word?) the better. If ever you tire of Hovis (I mean, how could you NOT love a horse called Hovis?????) as a wind-break, send him to me! He can join my other two and together they will protect most of South Wales from damaging gusts!!!!
wink.gif

Yay for the 'generously built, full figured' neds!!

My oldie is often found in the lee of the cob.
grin.gif

And he uses him as a bodyguard when the other field occupants decide to play a bit rough. (He's the only oldie in a field of younger boys).

S - Cob is waaaaaaay too large to BBQ, I only live in a small village. Maybe next year's HHO party if he doesn't lose his stubborn streak!

My chunky little Highland was also a star yesterday in the gales. The wind was howling through the indoor school and all the WB and TB types had to be lunged instead of being ridden but my brave little girl just got on with "business as usual"!

Ah but wasn't she worried about something hairy and feathery taking off from her field in all those high winds? I am sure she was referring to her own Shire x .... or maybe her broomstick
grin.gif

Yes of course Shils is jealous, unlike you and me who have proper big hairy horses, she merely has a shire X - points nose in air as she rides past on her pure clydesdale
grin.gif

Actually now Cairo is old, he did have a rug on Saturday as it was wet and windy to help his old joints but yesterday it was sunny so he was back out in the nude.

I am so happy I converted from fast and furious to chunky and fun.

More hair the better - says she with a clydie and a gypsy cob.

Ssssshhhh!
Oh, alright, so I may have a chunky, hairy, feathery Shire x Tb....and my old Tb does use her as a windbreak...but also uses my poor 3yo Tb x WB for the same purpose...
Mine live out all year in rain, hail, snow, thunder, so I think it's fair to say none of them react much to weather

I'd love a nice chunky cob AND a TB or WB . . . ** drifts off into a fantastic daydream in which money is no object . . . . **

Come and look after my three for a week - a TB, a TB x Bavarian, and a TB x Shire.
A week should be enough to shatter your dream...and your bank balance.

She is as hard as nails and I swear indestructable!

Forget the small dog in a handbag, this season's look is a cob!!!

NO NO NO NO no more cobs. I've finally got away from the bloody hairy things and riding a Knabstrupper Stallion and a TB Gelding

NO NO NO I'm fighting fat and hairy all the way, except, theres this gorgeous hansome bay fat hairy cob who has been and will always be the most amazing horse I have ever met.
