As per the title, how do people organise there car? I had a tack locker but since he is a poor loader/traveller I thought it was better to get rid rather than have extra rattles for him.
The back of my car ends up like a disaster zone after every event with stuff every where and clean stuff getting muddy and usually knocked over water/flasks so looking for some inspiration on how others manage.

Saddle carrier in the car with saddle on top and hat, spare brushes, gloves etc inside. Have small show box in the boot to carry brushes, studs, hoof pick etc.
Bridle either on back of saddle or hanging in trailer.
In trailer I have water carrier, poo tub with 2 water buckets, one for washing, one for drinking, sponge in and pooper scooper thing. Spare rugs over rope in the spare side of trailer with a spare hay net too.
Dirty boots get slung in one bucket when finished to keep out of car.

i have one of these toolbox things that i keep all my eventing kit in. Anything i need on day (studs, boots, bits, armbands etc) http://www.totallandscapecare.com/toolbox-on-wheels-why-not/
its useful for sitting and mounting on at shows, and i just throw stuff in and out during day.
also have a roundy saddle carrier that bridle, hat and gloves can fit in, so i know all that stuff is together.
as well as that i bring two buckets for water, washing etc

I tow with an open back pick up- l200, so have plastic boxes with lids. One for boots, one for first aid, one for spare tack etc etc. Bridles go in bin bags, so do saddles, though i am looking for a saddle carry bag actually big enough for a 17.5 saddle with stirrups and numnahs.

Everything of mine goes in the boot of the car! Dad has a pick up truck so end up having to climb in to reach everything in back- not ideal!
Will be following this thread for ideas, correct me if I'm wrong but the tack lockers look quite bulky? Where would they fit in? Wouldn't they get in the way of horse?

Stubbs saddle mate... Very useful. Apart from that big plastic box with all the stuff I might need in it, and extras like water, buckets, jacket hat etc all to hand

My poor loader doesn't seem bothere about the tack pack, it's actually come in handy for blocking him in and helping him load lol

I got myself a bit of a system because everything was getting in such a muddle. Everything for ponio goes in the boot of the car, everything for me goes on the back seat although ponio's water goes behind passenger seat. I have a stubbs saddle mate which is a great help.Maybe should invest in a plastic box to keep stuff altogether because things do get spread out. Car keys are usually the thing I cant find

I do this more or less too...
However the person I parked next to at Cumwhinton was the most organised person I have ever seen. Everything was in labelled boxes which were in some sort of order. V. jealous- if that is you please post!

Get a trailer with a built in locker :p ?? I adore mine - can't live without it now - though I used to!

Everything used to live in the back of the car anyway as have no tack room at yard but night before a show I would organise everything and take out anything i didn't need for show and have everything in in its place. Things like buckets, poo picker go in trailer.

Pony things are in boot, people things are on the back seat

If you travel with one horse, buy a hook on saddle rack and set of hook on hooks and have your tack hanging from the unused front partition. I utilise the empty half of the trailer with a good traveller! Things like tying spare hay nets on the empty side, and anything that doesn't need to be super clean like rugs, saddlecloths in bags, pony boots are in a squash able container like a tub trug or flexible plastic crate which is secured on the empty side or in the nose of the trailer, towards the empty side. Again, reiterate safe traveller! I hate having horse stuff in my car, unless it's in my pick up truck haha. Show jacket hangs up, there's a spare bucket or plastic bags for any rubbish or dirty stuff too.
I love the clear stacking lidded boxes from hardware shops, when you event or if you just do one discipline out of the three just either grab all three or just one, having pre loaded them to be discipline specific.
My xc hat, boots, medical card , back number etcetc all in one
My dressage pad, bling, show hatetc are all in another
My fly bonnet, fluff, stud girth etc are in another.
There's also a completely separate show grooming kit that contains studs make up,plait bands which doubles as my mounting block or sobbing step of sorrow.
Ice box for picnics and drinks lives in the car
Phone charger always in the car!!!!
Sat nav, in the car too.

I just have a large box (long rather than tall). All the horses stuff goes in there, boots, bridle, whip, numnah, passport, baby wipes etc. I then just pop the saddle on top of it in the boot of the car along with a barrel of water & bucket. I started doing that mainly so we don't forget anything! I just check & refill the box the night before a show then it's ready to load in the morning xx

Following with interest!

Things I do:

I have one of these http://m.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/art/80159519/IKEA stools, which I use as my mounting block, but I store upside down with two buckets in, washing down kit, and horse first aid kit. This way it fits in well, but I only have to leave the block out while I'm competing, none of my other bits and bobs, which put me off all of the tack box mounting blocks.

I also have a little jute shopping bag (with My Little Pony on the side, my sister's Christmas present to me - she is hilarious) with horse passport, BHS membership info, trailer breakdown info, mini human first aid kit (mostly painkillers) and an emergency £20 in it. This lives in my tack room, but if I ever take the horse out, it comes too.

My biggest issue is afterwards, everything is just dumped in the boot.

I have a built in tack box at the front of my float (trailer).

My saddles, bridles, horse boots, feed and first aid kit go in there. I have plastic tubs for saddle blankets, plaiting gear, make up and grooming supplies which gets put in the boot of my car.

My clothes get put in an over night bag on the back seat of my car. I have a plastic bag for any wet/dirty clothes to stop them making my car gross and making my clean clothes dirty. All dirty, muddy or gross horse gear gets stored in the float once it has been used (normally on top of the tack box or over the center divider). If I didn't have the tack box, I would put saddles and box full of saddle blankets/plaiting gear/grooming supplies in the boot with it. Feed, horse boots and first aid kit would go in the boot too. clothing would still go on the back seat and I would make sure I had lots of plastic bags or boxes to put dirty gear in to avoid other stuff getting dirty.

I have an Equitrek space treka - so the "live in" bit is just pure storage! 2 saddle racks, 2 bridle hooks, 2 coat hooks, lots of space for everything I need! Nothing in the trailer with the horse then or in the car!

i bought this for the boot which really helped:
http://www.robinsonsequestrian.com/brands/stubbs/stubbs-saddle-mate.html

my rules are:
- everything for the rider are on the back seats (jacket, boots, jodhpurs, spurs, whip..),
- everything like, phone, money, test sheets, keys, drinks, snacks... is in a bag on passenger seat
-everything for the horse (tack, boots, rugs, brushes...) is in the boot usually in buckets

I also have a clear plastic bag with a zip (it is just the bag that a new rug came in) to keep all my "whites" or clean stuff like saddle pad, bling browband, disk number, gloves... away from any mud stuff. it helps that it is clear as I can find things more easily and that it has a zip so dirt cant get in it.

water goes in the trailer.

I only do dressage and compete on horse and car is completely full! I have no idea how the eventers do it!

I have a separate show box that stuff lives in (boots, show whip, spurs etc). Anything else that is used daily gets added to the box the night before a show x

oh and I also invested in a boot bag and a hat bag,
boot bag takes the boots (of course!), spurs, spare socks, leather wipes, I never put dirty boots in them, but clean them back at home and then the bag is always clean and therefore keeps the boots clean and shinny
hat bag has the hair net, scrunchie, stock, stock pin, small mirror/hair brush, sometimes gloves,... so it keeps your hat clean and stop it from getting stractched
