Have got two border collies they go out three times a day. They have half hour around the park in the morning normally throwing a ball or something for them.
They go out at about 1 with the st bernard puppy aswell and all three of them have a good run around the field.
Then at about 7-8 at night they all go for a little stroll around the block to get them calm for the night.
My boy comes to the yard with me in the morning for about an hour and again in the evening for at least an hour. During the week he comes into the office to work with me and preys on unsuspecting persons to throw his toy for him - the postman loves him and comes in specially!!
At the weekend he'll be out for as long as I am at the yard (usually most of the weekend)
A two mile walk down the fields to check the horses and sheep twice a day and 1/2 hour walk in the afternoon during my dinner break.
They go out round the farm for half an hour for their last night time wee wee and at weekends they spend all their time herding the chickens up, then herding the pet sheep up and then herding the chickens up and so it goes on!
mine comes riding most days but is always with me up the yard whatever at home we play hide the ball which she loves infact she prefers the propper mind games they seem to really tire her out
When younger mine came to the yard every day, general running about playing with other dogs plus ball games, and walking in the park for about an hour when the evenings are light enough, or depending on OH shift during the day. Now elderly and arthritic, the park at weekends and on OHs days off.
My collie gets walked at any time between 7-10 for a good 1.5-2 hours and then will usually get played with out in our garden which is a good acre or so gets a fair run around then , aswell as being able to go in / out as he pleases throughout the day. He gets a second walk maybe 60% of the time at the moment
Ive got a shetland sheepdog, and I dont normally walk her, but she runs with the quad 3 times a day when I feed the horses, follows me everwhere...and we have lots of land, so if shes outside with my other dog (a spanish Mastiff) they do what they want, but most of the time she wants to be in the house with me....
