Following the success of the last TB thread, how are all your little darlings doing now?

Last time, Reg had just had his hocks injected and Bee was being brought back into work and being a madam (understatement of the century!).

So now, they are both being total darlings and looking amazing! Quick background: Reg is 12, nearly 13, and has been a 'normal' horse for just over 3 years, entirely reschooled by his current rider, my sister. Bee was re-backed last summer, had 3 months work then had nearly 4 months off due to a cut that ended up with bandage bind.Came back into work last month. She's a bit clever!

Reg has been going SJ a fair amount, came 7th out of 40 and is now jumping actual clear rounds. Did their first 1m of the year and had 2 poles down, but they were really unlucky poles rather than the usual tap them out behind poles. Lots of smiley faces :D They went XC for the first time since late September last weekend (at an eventer trial) and pinged round the 1m-1.10m track for a easy clear. So he's been polishing his ever-present halo and is firm favourite of everyone :D

Bee went to bootcamp, because she was becoming vastly dislikeable and vaguely uncontrollable. Took a few days, but she remembered her manners eventually and is now being a proper swot! She looks fantastic and has grown quite a lot, and is getting very established for her age and time she's been a 'normal' horse.

Videos of the gang can be found here, if anyone is interested!

So how's everyone else's crew getting on?

Well my 12yr old gelding is very happy to be in consistent work after his winter holiday. He has been rather fresh and slightly cocky but it's been nice to see his character coming out. We are hunting Saturday, but only for half the day as he is not that fit yet, and will aim to do our first Hunter Trial together on the 24th March :)

My 9yr old mare, I've only had her since November and she hasn't been ridden since her racing days (5 yrs ago and shes been a broodmare since) but now the evenings are getting lighter and I have a bit more time, I will start to get her going and basically rebreak her! She had an abscess in her hoof 2 weeks ago- flipping wet weather!- but she's better now.

my boy's doing great, looking great, he's currently resembling a fluffy now mouliting teddy bear!
He's off to his first fun ride ever at the grand old age of 16! He's done nothing since leaving racing, ok hunted a couple of times to get his pointing qualification but nothing else.
Rode tonight, took him for a stroll round the field, started off ok, then the jogging, headshaking, bouncing sideways fun started! Managed 2 rounds of the field before deciding it was bed time! He's now hacking only, a job which he thoroughly enjoys... a bit to much at times! Noones told him he's not a racehorse anymore!

Roll on the summer!

We are looking forward to dressage in 2 weeks, 2 novice tests and then camp at Somerford over Easter weekend where I will hopefully be feeling very brave, show jumping and xc lessons booked. It's easy to feel more positive with the lovely weather we've had today :)

Can't wait for summer.. Loved the sunshine here today :)

Well both dropped weight whilst being snowed in off and on... But are now looking great again :)

Moo, 12 year old ex racer is feeling fantastic to ride at the mo' so really motivating me to get out and do a bit of stressage soon!!

Minnie my daughters (so she tells me) 6 year old ex racer on the other hand is being a little madam... Had teeth, back, tack etc checked all good but she's being very backward again :( .. Currently experimenting with feed, tack , exercises. Hoping with patience she'll lose the attitude she's aquired during her little break! :-/

My boy is living out again (was only coming in at night from new years - about 2 weeks ago) and is very happy about it! He's pretty fit now but is having a few days off as i've got an awful tummy bug.

I don't have transport so don't have much planned un-fortunately however we are off to the beach at the beginning of April - i cannot wait!

Here he was about a week ago -

Mines looking good, nice and round for once :) However that's where the good news ends... recovering from a large abscess at the moment then is on 6-9 months rehab for her back. lots of physio and light hacking and no schooling until winter so we're out all this season :( Oh well, she'll be a lot happier and no complaints from her as she'll be chilling in the field for the next few months.

Jaes being a dude! Im still riding most days and Lex2501 is jumping him. We have another combined training class coming up, they are doing the Intro class. Then XC practice before doing the Intro unaff ode at twesledown beginning of April. After that not sure what's going to happen as I'll be over 7 months pregnant then so he'll prob just plod around and then have 8 weeks holiday in the field while I have my baby.
He's dropped a bit of weight and he's a bit slimmer now than he was this time last year. Hes on part livery though, its not the same as mummy looking after him! I got a bit upset about it but on reflection I probably normally have him a bit too fat. He's being a super good boy and we are all loving him lots! He's wearing a new rug tonight that I got him as a present for being a dude for Lex at the show, spoilt boy :).
Glad your crew are doing well :).
