What about your pony?

My horse is 17 and I'm sure he still thinks hes 5.

Lucy is much the same but her new trick is standing still and refusing to move. Especialy if we are in public. Our first (and only) attempt at afill dressage we got to x and she just threatened to rear untill the judge rang the bell then she walked out the arena as sweet as a lamb. The next week we Qualified for the champions of great britan dressage final.
This yesr we have qualified for the regonal finals of the vetran horse qualifiers for olympia but last weekend she desided this was a fun game in the show ring to and the regonals are in a few months! I just hope we go on a good day. Sometimes she annoys me and i wish she would act her age and be sensible but she's always been like it and i've owned her 11 years!!

I think they like to show us up sometimes...

But I do hope you get her on a good day for the regionals!

Edit; What a nice wee 'welcome' kind of thing from people that replied

So do i. Why do we love them so if a man behaved that way he'd be out the door quick sharp. But i honestly wouldn't have Lucy any other way.

That is so unbelievably true aswell!

haha!

Taking more nonsense from your horse than you would a guy.. what does that say about us?! lol

Well my oh does get gealous sometimes as he says i care more for lucy and charlie (my new puppy) than him and i always put them first. Sadly for him if i had to chose between him and them. urm they would come top every time. (is that wrong?)

No it's not wrong at all!!
grin.gif

Your arguement could always be that they need you to feed & care for them, while he is capable of doing so himself untill you get back?

(that wasn't meant to be cheeky, sorry if it come across that way)

Although I may be biased as i partly got rid of my ex as he took strops when i got up early at weekends to see the horses and if i picked the horse over him (the vet was coming out)...
smirk.gif

He has been better since we last argued about it and i said at that moment in time i did love my pony more than him and it was like that when we met (I've had lucy alot longer than we been together) and it was gonna always be that way and he could leave if he didn't like it. He hasn't complained since. If he complained and the vet was coming he would be gone like a shot. if lucy was ill all else comes second.

Well atleast he now knows where he stands...?

But true about the whole vet thing. Everything else gets dropped untill the horses are ok. They've got a way of worrying us and pullin heart-strings like that.

Mind- controlling horses

haha!!

To right he does. Never mind he's still with me maybe i should cut him some slack after all he must love me to put up with me! He even comes to shows and holds ponys for me. He's becoming well trained so i better keep hold of this one!

Ohh personal pony holder.. Best to keep that one! haha.

Another ex of mine (I don't get around. there was time between etc) used to pick me up like a small child and place me on my horse at shows when i asked for a 'leg up'.

The embarrasment!

How embarrasing for you all the ponys i ride i can mount from the floor thank goodness don't think i'd like to be picked up like that! But atleast he was trying to be helpful i suppose.

Welcome! Your pony has such a cute "butter wouldn't melt" face. Surely he couldn't be naughty?

Hi and welcome, hope you enjoy the forum and don't end up too addicted - though it is difficult not to be.

Luckily our two are super to catch - come cantering over as we appear, probably as they know we have a feed with us, or they are going to come in and then be fed - the joys of owing big hairy horses who love their grub.
