do you reckon an entire 7hh shetland (age 2 1/2, 3) could get a 13.3 pregnant ?! We were pondering this at the yard today as my mares been in with him a few months, and during a couple seasons, and they are apart now but shes such a tart we were wondering if he jumped on whilst she was laying down! We certainly dont want her to drop a tiny baby anytime next year! What are your thoughts ?

Yes, perfectly possible. I know of a 15.3 horse that was covered by a welsh a type pony that escaped from another yard!

definatley. Welsh section C's are mostly bred by A's crossed with D's.

Well had one the other way round the stallion was a welsh d and mother was a shetland. Dont know which was the more difficult situation LOL!

On my old yard there was a tarty mare who lay down for a riggy gelding to mount her.

there was a day when we got to the yard and her rump was covered in mud yet the rest of her was clean... i'm guessing he jumped her when she was laying down and she didn't protest. will ring the vet on tuesday and arrange a scan. If he has covered her what on earth would the foal look like?! lol
