On the xmas eve / last meet before xmas (so if you do Thursday country the last Thursday before xmas) we tend to tinsel up on the breastplate / neck strap. I don't go too OTT though.

Recieved this recently ;)

A Horses Guide for Christmas ...

1. Be good and put up with silly decorations / antlers / silly hat being added to your normal tack. Humans seem to get some special kind of pleasure out of seeing you with decorations / fake antlers /silly hats at this time of year

2. Pretend to look at least amused when they take your photograph wearing decorations / antlers / silly hat

3. If you see a large man with a white beard and a very loud laugh DONT PANIC - This a quite a normal occurrence at this time of year - he does not eat horses

4. Remember be especially patient / calm with your human during this time. They may appear to be more stressed-out than usual and they probably will appreciate a big slobber / friendly nudge into the hay bar.

5. Be aware that you may have to listen of cacophony of hideous sounds repeated ad nauseum in the stable yard - these are called Carrols and are sounds humans use to remember what time of year it is, be patient the noise will stop -in January

5. Take note of December 25 - this is Christmas day - this is the one day of the year that your human will come bearing large amounts of treats but if you are lucky wont expect you to perform / exercise / compete. Lie back and enjoy the peace and quite - heck have an extra carrot!

6. Be wary of moving to a new owner for Christmas - especially if you are a pony! This could result in being made to wear a big red ribbon and stand quietly under a Christmas tree in the human’s living room. Expect onset of screaming once new human arrives...

7. Look interested when human arrives with large Jolly Ball/ Lick / stable toy - then kick it into the corner...

8. Boxing Day is an excellent day repay your human for the Christmas holiday. They will be properly suffering from the human form of colic and will really appreciate if you are being exceptionally fresh and lively - especially in the hunting field!
