Haven't seen it myself yet, my friends horse is on box rest after removal of a splint.
Apparently he was really poorly at the weekend, high temperature, diarrhoea, swollen legs, heat in his feet and couldn't walk, vet thinks an infection from the diarrhoea, they took bloods to check his liver.
Just had a message this afternoon saying he was really bad this morning, could hardly move, someone's farrier picked front feet up, horse nearly fell over, squeezed heels and loads of white puss came out. Apparently heels are really split. Vet won't come out, told her to bute and cold hose.
I'm going to see horse for myself tonight, very worried to be honest, owner is not the most experienced and is obviously seeking help and not really getting it from this particular practice, I won't use them myself.
Any thoughts, I have my own but won't know until I've seen it.
