After my boy was ill and a week of chicken and rice I noticed no more gurgly stomach, no more eating grass and being sick and no more runny poo, so I went and bought Burgess' sensitive dry food (only because all the others were fish flavour!) and Naturediet and also the raw frozen mince from pets at home. So hes had half cooked mince/naturediet mixed with the dry food and is eating the lot :). He is a skinny Lurcher who needs something wet mixing with his dry otherwise he will leave it. I have done the taking it away etc but he will leave it for days!

Up to now one week on, he is doing 'big' solid poo's isnt stinking the house out :)and touch wood hasnt had the gurgly belly. Is this diet ok to continue with?

My fella is on the Prize Choice tripe (I don't bother cooking it, I give it raw or freeze it in a Kong) from P@H freezer with chicken wings and Skinners duck and rice as a training aid from my pockets (so he gets 2xtripe morning an evening, then the wings and kibble sporadically in between) and like yours, he only does one big, solid poo a day, if it works, I wouldn't change it? You could drop the nature diet or the mince, you're just doubling up with using the mince and it at the same time.

Just been to freezer to check on the frozen mince and its Prize Choice :D Ive bought the chicken, lamb and chicken and liver. I know feeding raw is much better but I cant bring myself to give it him raw  so Ive been cooking it in the microwave, it smells the house out :) What breed is your dog? I reckon Im well underfeeding mine if yours gets 4 of them a day. Weve tried giving him a breakfast but he just isnt interested in it :(
Boris was on Skinners Rough and Ready before but is so so picky so I was putting 1 1/2 tins of Winalot with it too.
So do you defrost it then refreeze it in a Kong??
Oh Boris is doing a few big big poo's :D:eek:

He's a GSD - I meant two servings, he gets at least a block a day split into two, or sometimes two a day. Which will be upped when he is older.
I am just about getting away with keeping the tripe in the bottom drawer of the freezer but the microwave might make me homeless...have escaped threat of eviction by scrubbing it a couple of times a week but I did have a bag of peas thrust in my face and was ordered to smell it earlier :o
I do defrost one each morning and then decant it into two Kongs each evening to re-freeze for the next day, so he gets one in the morning and one in the evening and like I say, the dry food from my pocket and the chicken wings in between.
