Thoughts on Oscar dog food?

Hi i used to feed it to my old dog he had it from about 9months until he left us at nearly 10yrs. He loved it from the start and always had solid poo and never had an upset tummy, and his weight was always well under control.

Holy hell! 55% rice! You're paying for a LOT of totally unnecessary filler.

Ultra care lamb & rice
Nutrition
SPECIFIC INGREDIENTS Rice 55%, Lamb 30%, Poultry fat, Beet pulp, Egg, Salt, Fructo-oligosaccharides, Citrus pulp, Seaweed, Tocopherol extracts of natural origin.

Not trying to be nasty, DB, but I'd suggest that many dogs 'love' whatever they're given. My youngsters will root round the fire and steal bits of charcoal! They used to love each other's poo, too! :o

With that amount of rice, you'd never have a weight problem!

Chicken ultra care
Nutrition
Composition: Rice 56%, Chicken 27%, Poultry Fat, Beet Pulp, Dried Egg, Salt, Fructo-Oligosacharides (0.2%), High Nucleotide Yeast (0.1%), Citrus Pulp, Seaweed, Minerals

Beet pulp is a controversial filler, pointless. Dried egg is poor compared to fresh egg. Why are they adding salt to every type?

Never looked at this food before, no wonder!

My doberman is incredibly fussy, has poor skin/coat. She has lost weight too, all of this since she started getting alopecia on her sides. She has always been a picture of health before now. That's why I'm looking at different dog foods, trying to figure out what to feed her. So any advice is greatly received!

I used to feed oscars and my dogs looked well on it, I also reared a litter of pups on it, all did well on it. I changed to Skinners duck and rice because I was looking for a lower price food and skinners has the bonus of being better quality too imo.

Cinnamon toast please send me that link too thanks. A guy on our estate sells Oscar he keeps trying sell it to me but at 50odd quid a bag i am not having it- feed mine a high quality pet shop own brand with 40%meat.
Where are u based op?
