Thoughts on Shires Optimus Saddles...

Hi,

Has anyone tried the new Shires Optimus Saddles?

In particular the Shires Optimus York All Purpose Saddle?

I'm thinking of getting one for my youngster as i wanted the changable gullet system but didnt want a wintec or Thorowgood (i like prefer the look of a leather saddle).

Just wondered what peoples opinions were of these?

Will be interested to see responses to this as considering getting the jump version! No experience though sorry

I know the response from those in the know on the synthetic versions is generally not to touch with a bargepole, so I can't imagine the leather versions are really any better. IF, and if, they fit, why not look to the other leather saddles that have adjustable headplates - Bates, Kent & Masters, Collegiate etc, there are quite a few. You will have to spend more, but under £500 on a new leather saddle is asking for trouble, whatever the brand, in my opinion.
