Just looking for anyone with any experience as I am in the throes of searching for a trailer for around £1500. Found one Horsemart which I quite like the look of, but I don't know much about them as I'm used to the usual Bailey, Ifor Williams, Rice trailers etc. Does anyone have any thoughts re internal sizes, towing characteristics, quality at all?

Any comments welcome!

I had one some years ago. It was a great trailer. Light to tow and light and airy inside. I carried a 16.1h and a 16.3h in it with ease. The only thing you need to look at carefully is the floor as in any older trailer and the roof as they tend to be fibreglass and I know the one that I owned had to have some work on it before I purchased it.

I bought one last year for £30 as it needed work. Re-wiring, brakes all round and will be doing the floor just for peace of mind.

It's light and spacious inside which is good as my pony is a little bit 'special!' good to tow and I can move it by hand myself :)

Love 'em so much I've got two! A double and a treble.

Horses load and travel well in them and the doubles are very light.

The newer ones had galvanised frames and what with the ali sides and fibreglass roof there's nothing to rot other than the floor, so, beware of this - these trailers have been out of production for twenty years or more so whatever you find will be old.

I love mine, like others have said they haven't been made since I think 1995 when they closed shop, So in reality the newest you are going to find will be 17 years old.
They are are very light to tow, very stable, far better suspension than an IW, fully galvanised chassis, everything I've had in mine has travelled really well.

The design is very good too, I like the way you can open the front door at shows, and your horse can safely look out over the ramp, a bit like a stable door :)
Also the curved front makes it more areodynamic ;)

If you can find one that was made in the last 20 years and it's in your budget buy it! The floor will need checked, as with all used trailers, I would check the ramps too, mine had both the floor and the front ramp replaced before I bought it. :)
But they really are great trailers.

Yes, we had a Sinclair trailer for several years. We did replace the floor ourselves. It was very easy and lightweight to tow and the horses travelled very well. They seem to hold their price well as we sold ours for almost as much as we paid for it-although we kept it well maintained.

On the plus side my daughter also had a Sinclair. After a nasty accident (not her fault) in which the trailer turned on its side, she was able to break the fibreglass roof and get the horse out through the roof! Luckily horse wasn't injured but the trailer itself was a write off.
