Thoughts on this horse for sale please.

I've not viewed the video it wouldn't open but from photos looks nice. Although rider looks like she is having to use a lot of leg? I went with a friend to view horses at Astrid Bolton she was very helpful and had some lovely horses. I think they are quite pricey but not stupidly so and you are paying for the convenience of viewing several horses at once.
Hope you find what you're looking for!

RedVendetta - just pm'd you

artannie, yes I too noticed the rider used alot of leg, but agree its only a young horse.

I have known Astrid for several years and always found her to be very straight and honest. she does sell some lovely horses. Good luck

If you look at the walk video, it looks like the off fore is twisted. If you freeze frame when the horse turns towards the camera you'll see what I mean.

I would ask to see a photo of the horse standing square and facing the camera on a hard surface before travelling to view it.

The only thing I can see is that the rider is having to use a lot of leg to keep the horse forwards (although could do with being more so) and when he backs off he really drops behind the vertical and tucks his chin in.

It just looks as though he needs lots of riding forwards into a longer contact rather than holding short.

The yard is not far from where I live, and a few people I know have bought horses from Astrid and have been very happy with them.

Well as get about half way through each I don't think she is using the legs as much. Looks very nice and calm and with a motorway very close. Not much info though in write up. Looks nice from what you can see but I think the video's should be longer. Where abouts are they based I couldn't find it on their homepage? And how much are they asking for this 4 year old?

I completely agree with _JetSet_, although it is a common problem with young horses and dealers who want to produce them quickly to sell. As long as you consider this horse with your eyes open and take into consideration that it will probably need a year or so working properly through its back long and low to muscle up and mature, it looks like a nice sort. I have never bought from this lady but have heard good things and she does seem to have quality horses.
