I really like him, he sounds a level headed youngster and good looking to boot. If I was in the market for another I would take a look. As for the price I don't think its excessive for what he is, you will always get the die hards who insist they won't pay more than nothing but most people I know would pay this money for a well put together trainable 5 year old.

That's good to know then. I shall remember that when I advertise mine in a few years' time because it's a lot more than I would have asked for something of that age that hasn't done anything. I sold her mother - 6 years old and only done about the same amount for £2700 ..... hmmm

You are paying an extra couple of grand for the colour. You could always buy a bay horse and bleach it?

But if that is the case why are there so many bays/chestnuts/greys atc for sale of a similar type for the same sort of £?

Overpriced. You can get a nice 5yo solid coloured for £5K easy.

You will always pay more for a coloured as they are the fashion - it is relative though - when you come to sell it, as long as they are still this seasons must have you'll still get the extra cash for them. If you want a coloured you just have to accept that it is more money.

This horse has done nothing, there is no breeding mentioned at all, just the usual potential bit? To say this is a bargain at over £6k is ridiculous. At that money you can get a horse at that age with breeding & a proven ability. It's at least £2k over priced.... possibly more.

Hmm, not sure I agree with that when there are some reasonably priced coloureds and some not so reasonably priced solid coloureds out there?! So in theory, you are saying the horse is overpriced but will sell at that cos it is coloured?!

I think he is a nice horse but not a bargain. I think it is a little on the steep side tbh but his colour makes him attractive to some people so therefore his price would be a bit higher. I would say 5k is more realistic if he is well put together and going nicely. Trouble is you cant tell from one picture.

I like the look of it.

Don't think its a bargain but when I was looking this was the average price for this type of horse, so so don't think it was overpriced either - coloured or not. I would love to know where all these horses for £3k are????

He is very similar to my new 5 yo and similar stamp i think..........perhaps slightly less green as my boy is only just starting to work in an outline etc. I would say he is slightly over priced but not by that much. I'd have thought amount £5-5.5K depending on his jump and conformation obviously, but they do say ONO.
Found out quite a bit whilst looking at similar stamps.....happy to say exactly what i paid etc on PM if you are interested.

Yes, some mug will buy it. Would you honestly pay over £6k for that horse if it was a bay? It's done nothing, has no breeding - why so much money?

If it was a nice youngster with a good attitude and talent to do the job, yes I would pay that money regardless of whether it was bay/coloured or pink

i think hes super but is price too high, he hasnt done anything and for that money i would want a british novice under its belt at least!!

Impossible to tell as a competition horse without seeing it jump and canter. A VERY good price if it does that well, pretty ordinary if it doesn't.

I wouldn't hold it against horses, being for sale for a bit, especially these days and especially if it's green. It could just be that the person is careful who they let on it, which is in the horse's best interests.
