Phew! Glad it's not just me then, thought it might be me being a tad old fashioned and traditional. It just looks so unnatural and how can a judge give a fair assessment in the show ring if everybody starts using painting by numbers to give an optical illusion that is pure fantasy?

Ok I have no problem with a bit of creative trimming here and there, chalking the white bits and a subtle bit of a lick here and there with the gloss. But running amok with a Sharpie takes it to another level altogether.😳

That looks strange. However I’ll hold my hands up to having used a sharpie to cover up an old scar on my fell for big shows 🤷‍♀️ only once or twice a year and it’s never caused any problems.

The market for showing make up is unreal, spray paint white for legs (liquid Legz from MP Gloss Products if you want a Google) every shade of cover up for blemishes, stick on false plaits in multiple colours, fake tails in every colour...so this doesn't surprise me. To he honest I've seen worse!

Thats awful I've never seen any show person do that.

Your not allowed to use any makeup or false hair in Arab showing you can't alter the colour of the hooves either, I can't stand that black paint people put on the hooves it looks terrible and just doesn't come off.

I wouldn't have a problem with that, l have been known to use the tiniest bit of hair dye on a white scar myself back in the day. I suppose strictly speaking it's a bit of a cheat but I never let that stop me helping an otherwise decent sort get up in the placings. ☺️ Yes I am a hypocrite!☺️
Let me guess: America?

According to their profile, they’re in Sydney.
I assumed the same as Cortez too!😂

in some countries they even fake markings such as a star so plan bays look unique. I have seen the barbie pony on tictok a equine YouTuber done this to her old retired childhood pony because she was asked to by a sponsor/ paid promotion once she got the photos she washed the pink off his mane and tail and put him back in the field.

We've often done this for doubling horses whilst filming, usually it's just poster paint or Snazaroo face painting makeup which stays on but washes off easily with soap and water.

And don't even start on forelock and tail "extensions"!!!

They never look real either, in the American pleasure classes I think I have seen. You kind of get normal tail that gets thinner and then a big chunk more tail all of a sudden. Very odd.

I have to admit to using a fake plait on my coloured when he rubbed his mane out the week before the Sunshine Tour 😂

Without investigating further, I'm going to assume that it's a joke. Because the reality is far too ridiculous!
