Terrible news from America this morning. Just saw on my fb page that a farm has lost all/some of its horses (Orr Farm being one I can name) and other animals.

Can't begin to imagine the devastation.

Thoughts with them all :(

I too have read that a school flattened has become a recovery, not a rescue situation.
Must be terrifying having nowhere to hide :(

I have been awake all night watching the news. I just couldn't sleep having seen the start of it. the biggest tornado in history..two miles wide has destroyed Moore in Oklahoma. it is just beyond belief how many houses have gone and many children have died at school. Just horrific poor people.

I was watching til the wee hours too. I'm American but live in Ireland. No matter where you put your horses the outcome in an F4 or 5 tornado won't be good. And this is one of the reasons people carry guns in their emergency kits. Because you can't wait for help to come to put the animals down. I have friends with a farm in OK but they were not in the path Thank God.

Terrible, terrible news. You know its bad when the TV crews start digging with their bare hands to try and get a mother and baby out of the rubble. Sadly, too late.
Some incredible bravery and acts of heroism too. The teacher found with a car on top of her was sheltering 3 children with her body, who, thankfully, were fine.
Hoping some more children are found alive in the school and their families reunited.

Two schools were in the direct path. The loss of life is going to continue to rise.

Someone asked on another thread asked what you do with horses. In or out is a crapshoot. To be honest you protect yourself and family and deal with the horses in the aftermath. There is no building to withstand the damage. Unless underground.

Totally devastating for everyone. I have friends in OK and was so worried. I finally heard from them at 4am and all fine physically. Just in shock and mourning as you would expect
Nature can be so cruel :(
