I'm thinking if moving my two cobs home and have been doing my research re making my own compost using old bedding and maure etc to help fertilize pasture. I've been reading up on a three bin compost system made out of wooden pallets each bin will be 3 ft wide 3 ft deep 3 ft 3 ft long.
I just wondered if anyone out there have experience of using this method and what your thought of it.

Many thanks

I did for a while, until my neighbour from hell decided it was too close to his garden fence and got EH to make me move it. It was a bit small for three or four horses - you may need 2 bins for each stage, again depending on the bedding. Works reasonably well depending on what bedding you use (wood products take a long time to break down) and if you keep it wet enough. You probably need to stir it up a bit to get it composted within a year, or dendro worms in it will help. Eventually of course it rots the wood so you may need a source of replacement pallets.
