Three hot poultices - too much

Thumper is in with an infection in his foot. I've given him two hot poultices - would another one tonight be too much?

I'm always a bit cautious about overdoing it.........

can i ask do your change every morning and night - so it would be yesterday you started? and are you getting yuck out???

I tend to hot poultic for two days and pray you get yuck out and then either cold poultic or dry poultic, depending on where on foot problem is?

I'm also very cautious about heels and near edge of hoof wall, but if any doubt will dry poultic - so out come nappy and grafter tape

One hot one yesterday afternoon, then one this morning. I'm sure I had gunk in when I removed the poltice from yesterday, and he's certainly a lot more comfortable today than yesterday.

I'm poulticing around the lateral seat of corn and up the bulb of his heal, and was thinking one more hot one tonight.

Not a good idea you think??

depends on if going soft??????? but you'll be only one to know - but if in any doubt whack on dry poultic as it will still draw out any yuck

Sometimes you'll only draw out a a very small amount of yuck, and that's it and then i'm surprised that small amount was the cause of the lameness
