I have some questions!
1.does clipped off hoof horn rot/decay?
2. Free foal pony saw the farrier for the first time yesterday. he was wary but let him pick up his feet-the first time he felt the farrier trim off hoof he went 'WHAT THE F-' and tried to leap away but farrier didn't let go and i had his head. he then went 'it doesn't hurt, okay then!' and resumed eating hay. (PROUD MUMMY!)
3. currently trying to get welsh thing fit, meant to do at least an hours roadwork a week apparently so could i get away with 20 mins on roads 3 times a week?
and lastly, i rode welsh thing in double reins tonight (practicing as tb i get to ride at work has them) and she was soo soft in the mouth, went bloody lovely, might do it more often...but how you keep the contact even on both is beyond me!

1.I assume so, its like our nails?
2.what a clever pony :D
3.do you usually ride in roundings then? The contact shouldnt be even on both, the bottom rein should only come into play if needed, you should ride predominantly on the top rein, and just not have the bottom rein flapping! :)

oh shame, there's a funny piece i want to keep!
and no, only ride in the one (but just found out dutch gags are designed to be ridden with two reins, oops). so if you have even contact on both, aren't you using both reins at all times? or if not how does the bottom rein come into play?

Its difficult to describe, but I guess you dont have a contact as such on the bottom rein. it should be in your hand enough that a play on those fingers, or a slight twist of the hand can bring that rein into action, but its the same as if you rode in a double bridle, where the weymouth shank shouldnt be pulled back unless needed if that makes sense??
