A certain someone is celebrating their big birthday today, and I'm still reeling at the realisation that my tiny baby is now a fully fledged three year old! One thing I can say is that the last few years have been incredibly eventful, and that having a youngster has been the biggest horse-related challenge I've ever faced. While there have been so many rewarding moments, it's definitely taught me that young horses are not for the faint of heart (not that I ever thought they were)!
At three, Flower is a delight and a horror, depending on her typically volatile teenage mood. She's been tricky from the word go, and I think that would have been the case no matter who had her. What she is, through and through, is Welsh: loving, characterful, and filled to the brim with irrepressible fire. In every way imaginable, she's the polar opposite of her lovely, gentle mum, but the two of them together make my heart whole. I love her endlessly and fiercely, and know for a fact that no other surprise is ever going to top her.

... has been the most incredible rollercoaster, but I wouldn't have changed it for the world
