lol

woo hoo - pic n mix ponies!!!

It will be a while before coloured TB's are the norm....personally not a coloured fan though*runs and ducks for cover*

They're never shiny enough for my liking!!

also some of the prices that they are up for ! there is a marked colt on one of the pages for$9500 are they being marketed on their colour rather than actually being well bred well put together horses?

if you look at the top horse closely you can see lots of confirmation faults.... if you read the fuglyhorseoftheday blog you'll know all about idiotic americans (an probs everywhere else) "breeding for colour" leaving unsuitable horses entire and breeding from them so their fashionable but ultimatly unfit for purpose or likly to get genetic diseases or injuries. Traditionally greys wernt even allowed to be registered with whetherbeys (sorry can't spell) but i think they've relaxed a bit and i do remember something about a coloured "TB"

The only coloured tb I think I read about that was registered and in training was a skewbald think it might have been by stetson(might have made that up!!:)) but I think it was something like15/16 tb not a pure bred. I was just interested as there were a couple with northern dancer in their pedigree so the history is there but totally agree about the faults of some of the horses.

What conformation faults exactly can you see with the first horse, Ezme? (We're talking about the buckskin, right?)

Of course, no horse is perfect, but I would have said that one was pretty good as horses go.

Have to agree,as far as photos go she is a nice type!!!All horses have their faults but i cant see any major conformational defects???

Am i missing something?

Don't know about your question, but the two horses on the first page of that link, phwoaaaaar, the're a bit nice.

Well, I agree with Ezme about the conformational faults - it has its fair share...
But I disagree regarding grey Tbs - I think you'll find that there were grey horses very early in the history of the TB, for example 'Alcocks Arabian' of 1700.

I agree that the more inbred the more probs you will have and i believe this will be the norm with coloured tb's(i feel they will become a fashion accesory so to speak)....Americans*cowers and waits for the verbal,lol*...no disrespect intended (not tarring them all with the same brush but)bugger the consequences, different rather than fit and normal goes!
However i guess we are as guilty with our tb's,they are so inbred it is scary,my lad is not awesomely bred,he has hyperion and charlottestown down the lines which are well known horses, but comparing him to the breeding of tb's today he is so far related from them it is untrue(if related at all)!!

That horse was called Honeypots Cheyenne, I think it ran in a couple of hurdles, but notably was only noticed because of its colour!!!

Can't remember the name and may be wrong anyway but doesn't Lady somebody or another own an eventer that is TB and coloured. Been round Badminton ? Ah Stanhope Diddycoy or was that not TB??
