Wooley threw a shoe sometime last night, never before. Why? He does run about a lot with the others, field is not muddy. He seemed a bit uneven on the stones and the leg did seem a wee bit warm. He is out with 3 shoes on, farrier coming Monday. Not long since he was shod.Should I worry? Everyone looked and said he was fine! its me, I panic! def not lami though!!

If it's a front he probably just over reached and trod on it himself. If hind he may have brushed and trod on it or one of his field buddies may have done the honors. He may have been spooked or got annoyed by the flys/midges. Doesn't take much for them to pull a shoe if they catch it in the right spot. I have have had my mare for 8yrs and she has only once pulled a shoe and that was in the field. He is bound to be a bit footy (especially if it is a front), where the ground is stoney, so don't worry too much.
