Poor pony has developed thrush in one of his feet. Farrier has attacked his frog in an effort to control it and recommended regular washing with antiseptic and spraying with purple spray. However, I've had loads of other suggestions from all sundry on how to treat it, including sluicing with hydrogen peroxide, washing with strong Dettol solution, painting the infected area with neat bleach (!!!?) etc. in any event, pony is pretty foot sore now - he's not shod - so any thoughts, ideas or favourite remedies would be gratefully received.
Am currently washing all four feet daily with strong antiseptic and spraying the infected foot with purple spray as well.
Thanks.
