I 'persuaded' OH to buy an industrial cardboard shredder so he can use it as packing & I can use it as bedding, rather than paying for removal. It can shred up to 8 ply cardboard.
I am a bit of a clean stable freak and I have found it fabulous. If you had to buy it I dont know how cost effective it would be, but it is so absorbant that I can locate the pee patch and remove it all in one 'scoop' without leaving any damp material behind. When I sweep up, apart from bits oi hay there is no dust or dirt, its great.
Initialy I made a mistake of shredding lengths too long and it made picking the poos out a bit difficult without getting lots of bedding.
Shredding is rather fun too (must get out more). Am going to experiment with paper next.
