Situation normal
Ok, folks.
A few people have been asking about the lad - so thought I would put a little update here for you all.
I have had Thumper for 4 weeks (yesterday). The moment I saw him it was love, and I knew instantly that this was the horse for me. Had him vetted, and home he came.
I left him in the field for two days with his new friends - and then rode him for the first time on day 3. Great, no problem. Hacked out with a friend the next day - great. From there on in we hacked out alone. He is just absolutely bomb proof!
At the advice of my vet at the vetting he has had his teeth done, and some work on his back - which will continue over the next few months. He's also been shod. It was apparent at the vetting that Thumper had a sore back, and this was confirmed when he was seen by the physio last week. It is muscular - and totally correctable and treatable, so of no real concern at all. But it will obviously reflect the type of work we will be doing up until the autumn - so no competing this year (sigh of relief!).
Anyway - the real purpose of this post is to say how utterly amazed I am at having found such a fantastic horse - especially when I read others posts about nightmare new horses. I think that I have well and truly been blessed, and really have found my ideal ponio. I keep waiting for the bubble to burst...........
Have also been in touch with his breeders - and am going to visit in a couple of weeks to meet some of Thumpers equine family.
No piccies I'm afraid - but they will come in due course.
Thanks for reading all.
