I ordered some base mix and gut restore from Thunderbrook and after a week of trying to coax my horse to eat it, I'm giving up! He just is not interested, which is really weird as he is not normally a fussy eater at all!

Debbie won't give me a refund - anyone interested in a bargain or have any suggestions?!

I have exactly the same problem, I had just ordered a 20kg sack and my horse died :( - and my mare won't eat it. I am trying a tiddly bit at a time to try and trick her into eating it but she tips the whole bowl out.

They are ungrateful so and sos at times aren't they?

I am thinking of giving it to a rescue place, shame to waste it.

Sorry to here he won't eat it, how are you feeding it? I introduced it very gradually into my horse's usual feed and he was quite sniffy about it at first, but soon got used to it. I'd go as far as to say he rather likes it now!

Breaking news! After 2 weeks of adding just a teaspoon to her feed and putting up with her drop kicking it out of the field :o she just tucked in :)

That's great news RebelRebel!!

I don't think patience is one of my virtues!

I have been feeding it for a week, just putting a pinch in but pony says no! As the other liveries have decided to stop giving hay and my horse drops weight overnight, I'm paranoid about him eating something, so back to Top Spec Complete and Alfa A Molasses Free for him!

How to waste a hundred quid......oh well.

OMG - Ive just taken delivery of my first bag of this for Red - hope she eats it!!! (shes never not eaten anythign ive offered her before (well, other than tomato - but thats completely different) so im hoping she will take it happily. Even gone and bought her a bag of readygrass to go with it - shed better flipping eat that... ;)

am hoping its as good as it seems to be !!

Where are you Cookster?? Ive got a friend up in Cambridgeshire who is interestsed in trying it but is a bit wary of paying out for a bag without being sure (understandably at the price it is!!) she might be interested??

i had the same problem with my mare, she hated it! even with a teaspoon in she wouldnt eat any of her feed.

Ive heard alot of people have this problem.

I tried pure feeds instead and no problems with mine eating it. customer service is great too.

Wow both of mine inhaled the stuff!

You could try adding spearmint/tumeric etc to the feed to interest them to start with/

Dont forget its not mollassed which is what theyre used to so its missing the sweet sugary smell theyre all addicted to!
