Tick/s on horse

While washing my horse off today I found two ticks on him; I removed them and THINK I got them off entire. What should I look out for now? Should I put anything on the places where they were to stop infection? He also has another couple of little lumps here or there which I had put down to last of season fly bites but now I am wondering if they were tick bites too (that have fallen off/been rubbed off by horse himself)? Its the first time Ive had to deal with a tick and I confess I feel very itchy and crawly now and very cross that they saw my beautiful beast as a free meal!!

The lumps are probably where ticks have been. You could put a bit of antiseptic on them if you want, but the thing to look out for is swelling, which will happen if there's infection.

My boy used to get loads. I use Deosect and haven't had a problem since. They are truly vile!
