Ticks (sp)

I always use Frontline which you can now buy over the counter.
Seems to work well for my 2 haven't had any more since I started using it,and before they always had a couple of them each week.

Don't pull them off, it might leave the heads in and set up infection. You can use nail varnish remover to kill them - or a lit cigarette! I don't know anything that is a preventative though, sorry!

As previous, don't pull them out, but I wouldn't use any of the other methods either. Get a special remover from the vets for about £1. It's just a little plastic thing that sits underneath the body of the tick then you twist it anticlockwise to free their legs and they come out easily.

You can use Frontline spray or Spot-on and this should prevent them but my dogs still get the occasional one

ticks will bite pretty much no matter what you use. Frontline kills them within 12 hours and so can eliminate the chance of Lyme's disease spreading. It will not stop the ticks attaching. Make sure you use a good frontline coverage according to weight.

advantic i have found is the best. This can be brought from the vet. Similar to frontline but better against ticks. The tick hook is good for removing them.
