Tics

Do we or don't we, have them.
We bought the boy in today and he had 3/4 bald/raised lumps on his face.
On examining some seemed to have puss and a small solid object in them the others had a harder solid mass that came away with hair attached.
Are these tics, if so what should we be doing with them?

Hello. My boys are getting exactly the same lumps. On their lower legs, face and chest. I spoke to the vet who said not ticks as they hang on. Also too early for deer mites and too late for harvest mites. She is as mystified as me. They don't seem to bother the boys - even one who has bad sweet itch, which is a relief. I have been using liquid paraffin on their legs and face which seems to help a bit. Sorry, not much use, let's hope someone else can shed some light on this!
