It's fair to say my lower leg has a mind of it's own where in the trot it moves so it causes me to tip forward. I've been told my core strength is quite weak so recently started doing some exercises to try work on that. Also while riding I've been doing none stirrup work and find I sit up a whole lot more then when I have my stirrups. So I thought I'd give it ago with tieing the stirrups onto the girth but I felt like when trotting my leg was fighting with trying to move and it was in fact making it worth so in the end I took the string off the stirrups.. Does anyone know what I can work on? I don't have an arena but have use to one but I mainly do all my work out hacking..

Don't tie them, instead lots of trot work in a forward light seat will develop your lower leg stablility. It's an ideal thing to do out hacking if you've got hills!
