Just wondered how many people plait then fold/secure the tails up?
I am off Drag hunting on sunday and was thinking of doing this to stop it getting caught/thinned out as his tail is qiute long and i struggle to keep it thick!
Was also thinking of taping it up with green tape as its his first hunt outing?

Sounds fine to me - It only ends up thick with mud and a weight banging their legs if really wet!

:) OBH who I go out with = on a wet muddy Jan day - about 70% tails up? maybe.

No one will mind if its neat :)

almost always plait mine up. saves it getting muddy and stops them stamping and kicking out at it, plus means dont have to wash it after.

just with brown tape. plait it, fold it and tape it. i know there is a way of tying it up but tail is thick and knots always come undone so tape seems most secure.

I used to use human hair bands then wrap over with bandaging tape, done in about 2 to 3 places up the tail.

it is plaited as per normal at the top, join the rest in below the bottom quarter of the dock, then plait to the end, fold up and stitch in. it's the best thing I've learnt to do i think, save me loads of time cleaning/brushing the bog brush!
